SKYE GROUP X charity: water

Skye Group donates all of our proceeds from the Adventure Megastore Membership fees to building water wells for people in need.

charity: water funds water projects in 24 countries around the globe – in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. Water scarcity, poverty, political stability and strong partner organisations all play a part in where work is chosen. charity: water focuses on providing rural communities with their first access to clean, safe drinking water for the first time.

WHO ARE charity: water

charity: water is a non-profit organisation bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries.

charity: water works with local experts and community members to find the best sustainable solution in each place where they work, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. And with every water dollar we fund, local partnerships coordinate sanitation and hygiene training, and establish a local Water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come.

WHY WATER?

663 million people in the world live without clean water.

The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep kids out of school or take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick. But access to clean water means education, income and health – especially for women and kids.

Splash’s ultrafiltration systems remove 99.99% of bacteria and viruses from source water.
